Fusions by So.Cap USA, applied by yours truly
I wanted to share with everyone a picture from about 8 years ago. This is my very first full head of fusion hair extensions. I remember being so excited that they came out so nicely. I still get that excited every time I finish a client. I love my job.
I love that the angle of the shot lets you see the back of her after picture as well

Tape Weft Hair Extensions
Remember when I mentioned HotHeads hair extensions? They really are awesome. They are one of several brands of hair extensions that work almost like stickers to add length and thickness to your hair.
Some favorite brands: Babe -Georgie -HotHeads -Cinderella Hair
This is a picture of what tape wefts look like once installed. They can be really great for adding a lot of hair quickly. I love them!

My Favorite Things (Right Now)
In no particular order:
— NEW Venus Breeze disposable razors, incredible, two creamy-dreamy bars of what looks like soap become a silky smooth shave gel, brilliant, time saving, just add water and go, great for travel, great for hungover mornings, great for girls on the go
— Urban Decay NAKED Palette, super flattering on everyone I know, there are two versions out now and this is the original, my favorite because the colors from this palette are slightly more blend friendly (some more dramatic shades were picked up for palette #2, if that’s what you like go for it)
— Pure and Good Hand Cream Lemon Tarragon (not pictured, Anthropologie’s site has them all though), I love this one because it smells exactly like Fruit Loops, I don’t know how it does it but it’s incredibly cool, it’s such a nice combination of a child-like scent with the richness of the lotion, melting into your skin quickly, it’s a good year round hand cream because it’s not too heavy for Summer and Spring but it packs the moisturizing punch needed for Fall and Winter
True Color: Ammonia Honesty
Hair color products without ammonia were created because some people are sensitive to the odors of ammonia-based colors or experience skin irritation caused by ammonia. Ammonia-free products are often as effective as an ammonia based formula, but there are many clients whose hair is resistant to color and need the push from an ammonia formula to get it where it needs to stay.
I remind my clients that ammonia is used as an alkalizing agent, it opens the cuticle layer of the hair and this allows the color to really sink in. No-ammonia color uses weaker alkalizing agents to open the cuticle. If the cuticle is tight, such as often occurs when the hair turns gray, ammonia works better to open the hair shaft. I prefer it because the coloring results are far more consistent. Regardless of what you prefer, I wouldn’t be concerned about changing trends, they’re still safe and the manufacturer will still make it.
